Job Description

Overview

  • Develop and optimize ATAK plugins for advanced geospatial visualization and satellite imagery management in tactical field operations.
  • Collaborate with government clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions tailored to operational needs.
  • Participate in agile development cycles, ensuring iterative feature delivery and user feedback integration.
  • Implement offline imagery management systems for disconnected environments, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Work with geospatial data formats and standards to enable advanced visualization capabilities.
  • Integrate REST APIs into Android applications, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.
  • Design operator-focused user interfaces optimized for tactical use cases and field operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead the design and development of ATAK plugins, including satellite tasking and order management features.
  • Develop geospatial visualization layers with imagery overlays and advanced measurement tools.
  • Implement cached imagery management systems for disconnected, degraded, intermittent, and limited environments.
  • Collaborate with government clients for feature reviews, training delivery, and operational feedback.
  • Integrate imagery search functionalities and metadata retrieval systems into applications.
  • Participate in agile development cycles, incorporating operator feedback to refine features.
  • Optimize user interfaces for tactical field use, ensuring usability and efficiency in challenging environments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, preferably Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with a focus on Android applications.
  • Proven experience developing ATAK plugins using the ATAK SDK and associated tools.
  • Proficiency in geospatial data formats and standards for visualization and analysis.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs into Android applications for enhanced functionality.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Gradle-based Android build systems.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • Background in GEOINT or NGA standards and knowledge of satellite imagery workflows is advantageous.
