Overview

  • Contribute to a boutique accounting practice within a law firm, specializing in entertainment industry accounting for individuals and corporations.
  • Perform diverse accounting tasks, including payroll reconciliation, bill payments, deposits, and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate benefits and insurance deductions for employees.
  • Supervise junior team members and provide mentorship to enhance team performance.
  • Engage in extensive data entry during tax season to support accurate reporting.
  • Work on-site with flexibility for hybrid arrangements in the future.
  • Utilize your mathematical skills to ensure precise financial operations and reporting.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to support the accounting practice's goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Reconcile employee benefits and insurance deductions in collaboration with HR.
  • Manage bill payments, deposits, and financial transactions efficiently.
  • Analyze financial reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members to ensure quality output.
  • Perform data entry tasks during tax season to maintain accurate records.
  • Support payroll processing and related reconciliations using Insperity software.
  • Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for review.
  • Assist with wire transfers, check runs, and funding reconciliations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in payroll and HR-related reconciliations, including benefits and deductions.
  • Ability to work on-site with potential for hybrid arrangements in the future.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
