Job Description

Overview

  • Lead design processes for energy-focused design-build projects, ensuring technical, regulatory, and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals to translate conceptual designs into executable plans.
  • Provide leadership in design-build integration, aligning designs with construction methods and project logistics.
  • Serve as a primary design authority during construction, ensuring adherence to approved documents.
  • Support preconstruction and pursuit activities, including proposal development and conceptual design.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations, maintaining alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor design progress to meet budgets and schedules, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain alignment between design intent, construction execution, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and manage the design process for projects from inception to closeout.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and integrated designs.
  • Facilitate design workshops and charrettes with stakeholders.
  • Monitor design progress, ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.
  • Oversee design reviews, constructability checks, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Support construction phase activities, resolving design-related issues and changes.
  • Assist in commissioning, testing, and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in design development and construction support.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM platforms and design standards.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, systems, and construction methods.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams in Design-Build environments.
  • Preferred certifications: Licensed Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), DBIA certification.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.
