Job Description

Overview

  • Manage financial performance of property portfolios, ensuring compliance with GAAP and ownership reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party property management firms to validate financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes within Yardi Voyager, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to asset management and leadership teams.
  • Support annual property budgets, forecasting, and tracking performance against projections.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards during audits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and implement automation solutions.
  • Monitor cash balances, coordinate funding requests, and oversee intercompany transactions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements from third-party property managers for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate monthly close timelines and deliverables with external property management teams.
  • Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wires, ensuring timely disbursement.
  • Validate rent rolls, occupancy reports, and supporting schedules for accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting packages for investors and lenders.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Track actual performance against budgets and analyze variances effectively.
  • Maintain vendor records and support annual 1099 reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 3–6+ years of property accounting experience, preferably in real estate investment firms.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager for accounts payable and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level accounting principles.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and identifying discrepancies effectively.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and ownership structures is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
