Job Description

Overview

  • Develop and maintain backend services integrating Earth Observation providers with stable APIs.
  • Design reliable systems ensuring uptime, fault tolerance, and predictable performance.
  • Manage data-intensive workflows focusing on correctness and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
  • Architect scalable systems with operational excellence in mind.
  • Contribute to LLM experimentation and integration for measurable product value.
  • Implement MLOps foundations for LLM-enabled services ensuring reliability and monitoring.
  • Develop operational tooling for AI features ensuring production dependability.
  • Design systems with secure patterns and guardrails for real-world failure modes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver production backend systems with a focus on reliability and observability.
  • Build and maintain REST APIs using Python and relational data modeling.
  • Apply engineering best practices including testing, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrate LLMs/RAG into production systems for real product value.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure customer-focused solutions.
  • Implement geospatial data workflows using relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Develop vector search and retrieval systems for efficient data handling.
  • Ensure cloud-based services' reliability and scalability.
  • Contribute to the Earth Observation and satellite imagery ecosystem.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend system development and operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Python and relational databases like Postgres.
  • Experience with geospatial tools such as PostGIS and GDAL/rasterio.
  • Knowledge of vector search systems and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with LLM/MLOps tooling and cloud platforms.
  • Strong product instincts and commitment to clean code practices.
  • Interest in Earth Observation and satellite imagery ecosystems.
