Job Description

Overview

  • Lead enterprise-wide procurement and inventory management processes to ensure cost-effectiveness, standardization, and timely delivery of services.
  • Focus on vendor supply and purchasing, ensuring efficient operations in a healthcare setting.
  • Collaborate with administrators, managers, and physicians to meet organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for procurement and inventory management.
  • Enhance distribution methodologies across multi-facility environments for cost-effective operations.
  • Provide leadership and support in navigating purchasing systems and related programs.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement standards and drive system standardization.
  • Occasional travel to other sites to oversee operations and ensure consistency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage centralized material management systems, including purchasing, inventory management, and costing functions.
  • Oversee procurement processes for medical, surgical, and other supplies, including capital procurements.
  • Identify process deficiencies and implement improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure cost-efficiency and timely delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with facility administrators to develop effective distribution methodologies.
  • Provide training and support for purchasing systems and related programs.
  • Standardize distribution systems across multi-facility environments to optimize operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by corporate officers.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing and sourcing within a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
  • Strong understanding of equipment components and surgical supplies/commodities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including spreadsheets and database management.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proven ability to form collaborative team relationships with diverse stakeholders.
