Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the ICU nursing team, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care and safety.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with organizational strategies.
  • Manage staffing schedules and budgets to maintain efficient operations.
  • Promote professional development through training and competency evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise ICU operations, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
  • Conduct staff interviews, evaluations, and training to maintain high performance.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets, reporting variances as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and standards of care within the ICU.
  • Ensure staff compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and committees to support organizational goals.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed to support ICU operations.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; active NY State Nursing License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience; ICU experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Certification in specialty area or CNML preferred within 3 years of hire.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical and management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage ICU operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and promote teamwork.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement processes and patient satisfaction metrics.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
