Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise ICU operations, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
- Conduct staff interviews, evaluations, and training to maintain high performance.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets, reporting variances as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Implement evidence-based practices and standards of care within the ICU.
- Ensure staff compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and committees to support organizational goals.
- Provide direct patient care as needed to support ICU operations.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; active NY State Nursing License.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience; ICU experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Certification in specialty area or CNML preferred within 3 years of hire.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical and management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage ICU operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and promote teamwork.
- Knowledge of performance improvement processes and patient satisfaction metrics.
