Job Description

Overview

  • Perform routine radiographic procedures ensuring high-quality imaging across main and satellite locations.
  • Assist with fluoroscopic procedures and maintain clean, adequately stocked rooms.
  • Assess patient condition, ensuring proper positioning, immobilization, and safe transfer techniques.
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and infection control policies to promote safety.
  • Accurately complete requisitions, verify patient identity, and confirm correct exam site.
  • Maintain thorough records and complete assigned quality assurance tasks efficiently.
  • Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Supervise and support clinical instruction of student radiographers.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and compliance with licensure requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform routine radiographic procedures in compliance with departmental protocols.
  • Assist in fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Ensure clean and adequately stocked radiographic and fluoroscopic rooms.
  • Verify patient identity and exam details to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality assurance tasks.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Support clinical instruction for student radiographers.
  • Adhere to radiation safety principles and infection control policies.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain professional competency.

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting.
  • Current New York State licensure in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and data entry tasks.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and hospital policies.
