Overview
- Perform routine radiographic procedures ensuring high-quality imaging across main and satellite locations.
- Assist with fluoroscopic procedures, maintaining clean and adequately stocked rooms.
- Assess patient condition, ensuring proper positioning and safe transfer techniques.
- Adhere to ALARA principles and infection control policies to ensure patient safety.
- Accurately complete requisitions and verify patient identity using two identifiers.
- Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
- Support clinical instruction of student radiographers and maintain professional competency.
- Maintain thorough records and complete quality assurance tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform radiographic procedures ensuring compliance with hospital and departmental policies.
- Assist in fluoroscopic procedures and maintain operational cleanliness and readiness.
- Ensure patient safety through proper positioning and adherence to radiation safety principles.
- Complete and verify patient requisitions and confirm exam details accurately.
- Operate diagnostic equipment efficiently and report any malfunctions.
- Provide guidance and supervision to student radiographers during clinical instruction.
- Maintain accurate records and perform quality assurance tasks as assigned.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an AMA-approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting (preferred).
- Current New York State licensure in Radiologic Technology.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (preferred).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer and data entry tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competency through ongoing education.
