Job Description

Overview

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.
  • Support fluoroscopic procedures and maintain clean, well-stocked radiographic rooms.
  • Assess patient condition, ensuring proper positioning and safe transfer techniques.
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and infection control policies to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Complete requisitions accurately, verifying patient identity and exam details.
  • Maintain thorough records and complete quality assurance tasks efficiently.
  • Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Supervise and support clinical instruction for student radiographers.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and certification compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform routine radiographic procedures across various hospital locations.
  • Assist with fluoroscopic procedures ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and immobilization during imaging procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital policies to promote safety and minimize radiation exposure.
  • Verify patient identity and exam details to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality assurance tasks.
  • Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment and report any issues.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to student radiographers during clinical instruction.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and certifications through continuing education.

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Current New York State licensure in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and data entry tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competency through education and certification.
  • Ability to work on-site in a hospital environment.
