Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to support prototyping, manufacturing, and production operations. This role is ideal for a technically proficient, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines to produce precision components
- Program CNC machines using G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for both prototype and production runs
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), to ensure parts meet exact specifications
- Perform tool changes, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain optimal machine performance
- Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) and document quality results
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards and lean manufacturing principles
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CNC machining certification, apprenticeship, or vocational training preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes
- Strong proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T standards
- Experience using precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
- Proficiency with manual shop equipment (manual mill, engine lathe, drill press, bandsaw, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience working in prototype or low-volume, high-mix production environments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
