Job Description

Overview

  • Manage and oversee accounting functions for grants, special revenue funds, and capital assets within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB standards, and federal Uniform Guidance regulations for financial operations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate financial reporting for grants, capital projects, and restricted funds, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support effective grants management and financial stewardship.
  • Drive process improvements and leverage ERP systems to streamline workflows and reporting.
  • Contribute to cross-functional financial initiatives and special projects to enhance organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and develop the accounting team, establishing workflows and performance standards.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations for grants, special revenue funds, and capital assets.
  • Monitor grant budgets and expenditures for compliance and address potential risks.
  • Coordinate financial reporting and audits related to grants and restricted programs.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure accurate capitalization and compliance.
  • Leverage ERP systems and tools to improve accounting operations and reporting efficiency.
  • Lead and contribute to financial initiatives and special projects across the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, GASB standards, and federal Uniform Guidance regulations.
  • Experience in public sector or school district accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and AI-enabled tools for accounting operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify compliance risks and interpret regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate fiscal requirements effectively.
