- Split responsibilities between human resources and payroll functions, supporting organizational goals and employee satisfaction.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes effectively.
- Administer benefits and payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
- Maintain confidential employee records and generate reports to support decision-making.
- Contribute to compliance with state and federal transportation regulations and standards.
- Support organizational initiatives through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Work onsite to foster collaboration and ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Screen, recruit, and staff candidates, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and compliance requirements.
- Assist candidates through onboarding processes, maintaining a seamless transition into the organization.
- Administer benefits and payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely processing.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal transportation regulations, including DOT and DMV requirements.
- Generate reports and analyze data to support HR and payroll decision-making.
- Manage employee relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
- Ensure adherence to school bus driver instruction compliance with NYSED standards.
- Collaborate with management to implement HR strategies and initiatives effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in human resources or payroll functions.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with payroll or applicant tracking systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
- Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of 19-A administrative requirements and transportation industry standards is advantageous.
