Job Description

Overview

  • Assist the Nurse Manager in leading radiology nursing operations and ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of care.
  • Collaborate with educators to address unit-specific educational needs and enhance staff competencies.
  • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring equitable distribution and alignment with patient care requirements.
  • Participate in developing and evaluating patient care protocols and strategic initiatives.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment.
  • Contribute to operational and budgetary management while addressing personnel and patient issues.
  • Enhance patient throughput and continuity of care across the organization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Evaluate and develop staff, ensuring adherence to professional practice standards.
  • Monitor and coach staff, serving as a role model for effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the CNS/Educator to meet educational needs and maintain care continuity.
  • Manage resource allocation, ensuring provider competency aligns with patient needs.
  • Facilitate processes to improve patient throughput and organizational efficiency.
  • Address operational, budgetary, patient, and personnel issues in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide direct patient care, demonstrating clinical expertise and leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in radiology or related areas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross required.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience and previous Charge RN experience.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Relevant certifications as determined by position level preferred.
