Job Description

Overview

  • Collaborate with a dynamic editorial team to produce high-quality proposals, reports, manuals, and communication materials for diverse audiences.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines across print, web, and multimedia platforms.
  • Apply plain language principles and web best practices to enhance accessibility and readability.
  • Work remotely within Eastern or Central US time zones, contributing to impactful research projects.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to schedule and execute editorial tasks effectively.
  • Participate in meetings with teams and clients to align editorial strategies with project goals.
  • Edit and format references according to various style guides, ensuring precision and compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform copyediting tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency across diverse platforms.
  • Implement client-specific style guides for identity, usage, and formatting standards.
  • Review materials targeted to varied audiences, addressing topics such as health, social policy, and education.
  • Collaborate with development teams on large-scale projects to manage editorial workflows.
  • Participate in team and client meetings to discuss editorial requirements and project updates.
  • Edit and format references per style guides like APA, Chicago, and GPO.
  • Utilize tools such as MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Monday.com, and Box to streamline editorial processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on editorial or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in copyediting and production editing.
  • Proficiency in applying various style manuals, including APA, Chicago, and GPO.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads involving short- and long-term projects.
  • Experience working collaboratively with authors, editors, designers, and production specialists.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Monday.com and Box is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in editing and formatting references for diverse documents.
