Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage a high-volume accounts payable department with 14 staff members, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processes for multiple legal entities, including invoice processing and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting leadership to support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for accounts payable staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team culture.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for vendor escalations and internal stakeholder inquiries.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing detailed documentation and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily accounts payable operations, including invoice entry, matching, approvals, and payments.
  • Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Maintain and update vendor master files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor accounts payable metrics, including aging analysis and open invoice trends.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline operations and improve throughput.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate coding and intercompany considerations.
  • Assist with audit preparations, providing detailed reconciliations and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounts payable experience; 12 years preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Workday ERP system is mandatory.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large accounts payable teams in high-volume environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounts payable controls.
  • Experience in multi-entity accounting environments and vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
