Job Description

Overview

  • Coordinate and oversee residential management systems within designated regions, ensuring compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and train managers and regional staff in implementing management systems and individualized program planning processes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet programmatic needs and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide managerial oversight during vacancies or absences of regular management staff.
  • Assist in developing new residential facilities, including administrative systems and admission/discharge processes.
  • Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant-related issues within the region.
  • Ensure staff training in mandated areas, including behavior management and interdisciplinary processes.
  • Interpret organizational policies and safety regulations for staff under jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Directly supervise non-nursing clinical and consultant team members, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate services for individuals under the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver.
  • Provide training and support in management systems, SCIP techniques, and documentation systems.
  • Motivate staff to achieve program goals and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Ensure coordination of medical clinical and consultant staff within assigned facilities.
  • Assume Treatment Coordinator responsibilities and perform activities of supervised staff.
  • Assist in developing new residential facilities, including physical plant and administrative systems.
  • Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant-related issues.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Human Services or related health service field.
  • Minimum two years of management/supervisory experience in a residential group home setting.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and ability to perform QIDP duties.
  • Valid Tri-State or New York State driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Experience in developing residential facilities and administrative systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and external parties.
  • Commitment to ongoing staff training and development in mandated areas.
