Job Description
Overview
- Coordinate and oversee residential management systems within designated regions, ensuring compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise and train managers and regional staff in implementing management systems and individualized program planning processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet programmatic needs and ensure effective service delivery.
- Provide managerial oversight during vacancies or absences of regular management staff.
- Assist in developing new residential facilities, including administrative systems and admission/discharge processes.
- Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant-related issues within the region.
- Ensure staff training in mandated areas, including behavior management and interdisciplinary processes.
- Interpret organizational policies and safety regulations for staff under jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Directly supervise non-nursing clinical and consultant team members, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Coordinate services for individuals under the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver.
- Provide training and support in management systems, SCIP techniques, and documentation systems.
- Motivate staff to achieve program goals and ensure quality service delivery.
- Ensure coordination of medical clinical and consultant staff within assigned facilities.
- Assume Treatment Coordinator responsibilities and perform activities of supervised staff.
- Assist in developing new residential facilities, including physical plant and administrative systems.
- Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant-related issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Human Services or related health service field.
- Minimum two years of management/supervisory experience in a residential group home setting.
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and ability to perform QIDP duties.
- Valid Tri-State or New York State driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations effectively.
- Experience in developing residential facilities and administrative systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and external parties.
- Commitment to ongoing staff training and development in mandated areas.
