Job Description

Overview

  • Manage accounting and financial reporting for employee benefit plans, including pensions, 401(k), and retiree benefits.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial disclosures for accurate reporting.
  • Support quarterly and annual close processes related to benefits accounting and compliance.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, HR, and external vendors on benefit plan assumptions and reporting.
  • Analyze plan performance, liabilities, and expenses, including pension obligations and deferred compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, including ASC 715 and related guidance.
  • Assist with audit support, including external auditors, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance benefits accounting workflows.

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for financial disclosures.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial close processes related to benefits accounting.
  • Collaborate with HR, actuaries, and external vendors on benefit plan assumptions and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience, including benefits accounting or actuarial accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards, particularly ASC 715.
  • CPA certification is preferred for this role.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, actuaries, and finance teams.
  • Solid analytical and modeling skills to assess plan performance and liabilities.
  • Experience with audit support, including external auditors and SOX compliance.
