Data Governance Associate

Overview

• Drive impactful data governance initiatives in a hybrid work environment, ensuring data integrity and compliance across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain trusted data for critical business applications.
• Leverage Python and SQL to automate data reconciliation processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Document and standardize business definitions, glossaries, and data domains to support governance frameworks.
• Develop and implement data quality rules, monitoring dashboards, and metrics for key data domains.
• Provide training and communication materials to promote understanding of data governance policies and practices.
• Contribute to the resolution of data issues, ensuring compliance with governance standards and protocols.
• Prepare regular reports and updates on governance activities for stakeholders and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Automate data reconciliation processes using Python and SQL to reduce manual efforts and improve accuracy.
• Assist data stewards in documenting and maintaining comprehensive data definitions and glossaries.
• Manage data issue logs, coordinate resolutions, and track outcomes to ensure governance compliance.
• Define and enforce data entry standards, validation rules, and mandatory fields for enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with architects to integrate governed definitions into data models and system designs.
• Develop dashboards and monitoring tools to track data quality metrics and governance adherence.
• Create training materials to educate users on data policies, stewardship roles, and governance practices.
• Provide regular updates and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data validation tasks is essential.
• Experience with SQL for data investigations and rule validations is required.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce or similar systems is preferred.
• Understanding of data governance concepts, including stewardship models and issue management.
• Exposure to modern data environments such as Databricks is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
