Overview
- Conduct AML audits within the fixed income division, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of AML controls, including customer due diligence and transaction monitoring systems.
- Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and emerging risks, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Draft detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management for review and implementation.
- Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to understand processes and mitigate financial crime risks.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging financial crime typologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and tools for enhanced efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Plan and execute AML audits in alignment with the annual audit plan and risk assessment.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of AML controls, including sanctions screening and SAR processes.
- Assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations, such as BSA/AML and FATF guidelines.
- Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure timely remediation of audit findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Draft clear and concise audit reports, presenting findings to senior management effectively.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and emerging risks to enhance audit practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.
- 4–10 years of experience in AML auditing, compliance, or financial crime risk management.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, CIA, or CFE are preferred.
- Experience with data analytics tools like SQL, Python, ACL, or Tableau is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automated transaction monitoring and sanctions screening systems is beneficial.
- Experience working with regulators or supporting regulatory exams is a plus.
