Overview

  • Lead laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage a team of laboratory professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee budgets, staffing, and performance metrics to achieve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient workflows and quality outcomes.
  • Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to optimize laboratory processes and services.
  • Monitor laboratory performance metrics, including productivity and safety indicators.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to support strategic objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory services; 7 years preferred.
  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Proven leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities in laboratory operations.
  • Strong skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational management.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with standards.
