Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for private equity funds within the client's Alternative Investment Division.
  • Oversee financial reporting, NAV calculations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Provide strategic leadership in improving operational processes and efficiency.
  • Partner with internal teams to address investor inquiries and reporting requirements.
  • Manage fund cash flow, credit facilities, and investment transactions effectively.
  • Ensure proper application of accounting principles to complex transactions.
  • Support audit processes by liaising with auditors and reviewing financial statements.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects within the Operations department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review fund governing documents to ensure compliance with fund terms and regulations.
  • Validate management fees and waterfall calculations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor investment transactions and prepare portfolio analysis reports.
  • Oversee fund cash management and coordinate with treasury and portfolio teams.
  • Lead annual audit processes and review financial statements and footnotes.
  • Drive operational improvements through strategic initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to address investor inquiries and DDQs.
  • Provide oversight of third-party administrators during NAV and reporting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles in complex fund transactions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/CA certification mandatory.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably in private equity.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP standards and private equity fund operations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with GP stakes strategy funds is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on problem-solving and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of private equity and hedge fund industries is essential.
