Overview

  • Serve as a key financial resource, ensuring accurate project accounting and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Analyze financial data to monitor project performance, identify trends, and flag potential issues.
  • Coordinate project setup processes, ensuring alignment with contract terms and organizational policies.
  • Review contracts to understand project scope, billing requirements, and financial obligations.
  • Monitor project budgets, track changes, and ensure updates are accurately reflected in financial systems.
  • Verify commitments to external partners or vendors align with project financial plans and policies.
  • Ensure revenue recognition complies with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Support project teams with financial insights, budgeting, audits, and special initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze project financial data, monitor performance, and flag potential issues.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely project setup aligned with contract terms.
  • Monitor project budgets, track changes, and ensure updates are reflected in financial systems.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports with detailed commentary on project status and variances.
  • Participate in project review meetings, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to project financials.
  • Monitor retainage balances, reductions, and payments to subcontractors for accuracy and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting; 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and project management principles.
  • Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Ability to manage billing documentation and oversee subcontractor payments.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
