Job Description

Overview

  • Lead global tax provision and reporting processes under ASC 740 for a dynamic energy firm.
  • Collaborate with accounting leadership and finance teams to enhance tax accounting processes and reporting quality.
  • Ensure compliance with tax-related financial statement disclosures and technical tax accounting matters.
  • Drive process improvements and operational discipline within the tax accounting function.
  • Support statutory financial reporting and local country tax accounting considerations.
  • Coordinate with independent auditors on tax accounting matters and audit procedures.
  • Evaluate tax accounting implications of complex transactions and cross-border operations.
  • Strengthen tax-related controls, SOX processes, and reporting governance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the quarterly and annual global income tax provision process under ASC 740.
  • Oversee accounting for deferred tax assets, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Analyze effective tax rates and return-to-provision adjustments.
  • Document tax accounting implications of restructurings and financing activities.
  • Partner with corporate accounting to ensure accurate tax-sensitive reporting.
  • Support audit procedures and coordinate with independent auditors.
  • Enhance tax-related controls and documentation standards.
  • Drive operational discipline and process improvements in tax accounting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with CPA required; advanced degree in tax preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Big Four accounting firms or multinational public companies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP.
  • Experience with deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and multinational tax accounting.
  • Proficiency in SEC reporting and public company audit environments.
  • Ability to manage complex issues across multiple jurisdictions and entities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to work in dynamic environments.
