Overview

  • The Patient Liaison supports patient recruitment efforts, ensuring smooth enrollment processes through pre-qualification, pre-screening, and scheduling activities.
  • This role involves direct patient interaction, managing communication and follow-up to optimize recruitment outcomes.
  • The position is onsite, requiring proficiency in clinical trial management systems and adherence to performance metrics.
  • Candidates with bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish are preferred for enhanced patient engagement.
  • The role includes collaboration with healthcare professionals and participation in community outreach events.
  • This position requires a strong understanding of clinical research studies and inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • The Patient Liaison contributes to achieving regional recruitment goals and supports new recruiter training initiatives.
  • Candidates must handle sensitive patient information professionally and comply with HIPAA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct pre-screening and scheduling to facilitate patient enrollment in clinical studies.
  • Evaluate patient eligibility through interviews, medical record reviews, and clinic staff discussions.
  • Manage communication with patients, including reminder calls and rescheduling appointments.
  • Monitor and optimize onsite patient screening schedules and track no-show/DNQ cases.
  • Capture and manage inbound physician referral leads and patient portal leads.
  • Address patient barriers to study entry using site or sponsor-provided support services.
  • Update Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) with patient profiles and recruitment data.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in local outreach events.
  • Assist with training new recruiters and contribute to recruitment performance metrics.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare or medical research.
  • Preferred certifications include MA, CNA, LPN/LVN, EMT, or other medical licenses.
  • Proficiency in CTMS, calendar management, and therapy areas is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a significant advantage.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially and professionally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and clinical trial protocols is required.
  • Experience in patient recruitment and engagement is highly preferred.
