Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for a private equity fund administration firm.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director to manage daily fund operations.
  • Extract and document economic summaries from legal and governing documents.
  • Independently manage fund operations and accounting processes.
  • Supervise and direct a small accounting team as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with document control policies and external regulations.
  • Perform thorough reviews of financial reports and complex transactions.
  • Adapt to changes in processes in a dynamic environment.
  • Contribute to the setup of client fund deliverables and capital events.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily fund operations and accounting processes independently.
  • Extract and summarize economic details from governing documents.
  • Supervise and direct accounting staff to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversee initial setup of fund deliverables, including financial statements and capital events.
  • Conduct multi-level reviews of financial reports and transactions.
  • Monitor compliance with document control policies and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Director to align operations with organizational goals.
  • Adapt to procedural changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide guidance on fund structures and investor classifications.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in fund accounting or private equity.
  • Proficiency in Investment Company Accounting (ASC 946) and US GAAP reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with governing documents like LPAs and advisory agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of fund structures, investor classifications, and economics.
  • Experience managing audits for private equity funds and related entities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise and manage accounting teams effectively.
  • Adaptability to dynamic environments and procedural changes.
