Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage daily operations of the surgical services department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Provide direct patient care and serve as a charge nurse when required.
- Collaborate with physicians and management to address strategic goals and initiatives.
- Evaluate departmental programs and processes for continuous improvement and patient-centered outcomes.
- Recruit, retain, and develop staff, offering performance feedback and conducting reviews.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards and organizational policies, maintaining high-quality care delivery.
- Promote safe practices for patients, staff, and visitors within the surgical services environment.
- Support departmental goals and contribute to the overall success of the healthcare organization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
- Active RN Texas license or multi-state compact RN license without stipulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care operating room experience and 3 years of management experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); additional professional certifications are preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage interdisciplinary teams effectively.
- Availability for full-time evening and weekend shifts exclusively.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to organizational values.
- Experience in managing neuro, plastics, ortho, and ENT service lines is preferred.
