Overview

  • Drive clinical education initiatives to enhance staff competencies and patient care quality in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Develop and implement innovative educational programs tailored to pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) needs.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards through effective training strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to design impactful clinical education curriculums.
  • Promote professional growth by identifying and addressing staff development priorities.
  • Enhance onboarding and orientation processes for new clinical staff members.
  • Leverage performance improvement data to inform and refine educational planning.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and evaluate clinical education activities to support PICU staff development and patient care excellence.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align educational programs with organizational goals and standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify and prioritize clinical staff training requirements.
  • Develop and deliver engaging educational content using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to the Nursing Practice Act and healthcare policies in all training activities.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Support staff in achieving professional certifications and advancing their clinical expertise.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active RN license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of four years of clinical experience, preferably in pediatric intensive care.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs.
  • Strong knowledge of educational principles and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
