Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline care processes.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with facility goals and objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and services to improve departmental performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in healthcare management.
  • Coordinate educational programs for staff and patients to promote knowledge and awareness.
  • Support research initiatives and quality improvement projects within the department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring seamless patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize care plans and outcomes.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation effectively to meet financial goals.
  • Lead performance evaluations and implement staff development programs to enhance skills.
  • Ensure adherence to Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary conferences for complex patient cases to ensure comprehensive care.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN leadership experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage healthcare teams effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and operational standards.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary teamwork.
