Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
- Document patient care information accurately in electronic medical records.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with specialists and external providers.
- Conduct outreach to at-risk patients to reduce unnecessary emergency department visits.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling patient information.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for national certification exam.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
- Proficiency in navigating electronic medical record systems within 3 months of training.
- Ability to perform age-specific patient care functions and modify approaches accordingly.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Flexibility to work varying hours between 8 AM and 6 PM daily.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
