Hedge Fund Operations – Private Credit

Overview

• Drive operational excellence in private credit and alternative investments, focusing on loan-based financings and bespoke structures.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and external partners to ensure seamless trade settlements and accurate reporting.
• Interpret and operationalize credit agreements, managing accrual mechanics, payment schedules, and maturities.
• Enhance operational controls and contribute to process improvement initiatives for complex financial transactions.
• Engage in strategic projects, supporting service enhancements and vendor collaboration.
• Educate internal teams and service providers on deal mechanics and structuring for alternative investments.
• Provide operational expertise for bespoke loan financings and separately managed accounts.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions in private credit operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage lifecycle operations for private and originated loan trades, including settlement oversight and funding coordination.
• Oversee outsourced service providers handling back-office functions such as reconciliations and settlements.
• Review credit agreements to operationalize terms and address detailed loan-level inquiries.
• Support loan amendments, restructurings, and non-standard lifecycle events with operational precision.
• Collaborate with account managers to resolve trade booking inquiries and reporting needs.
• Partner with finance teams to manage cash requirements for fund development and deal facilitation.
• Enhance controls for alternative transactions and lead cross-functional process improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, custodians, and banking institutions to support service upgrades and new solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of operational experience in private and direct originated debt/equity investments.
• Strong knowledge of loan-based products, including term loans and privately originated debt/equity.
• Proficiency in interpreting credit agreements and managing loan setups, interest calculations, and amendments.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and familiarity with fund accounting principles.
• Exposure to alternative investments and private equity fund frameworks is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with custody and accounting service providers effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate operational requirements and deal structuring.
