Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for a dynamic investment management firm.
  • Oversee complex fund structures including hedge funds, private equity, and royalty vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities to junior staff members.
  • Design and implement internal controls and process improvements for scalability.
  • Engage with external service providers to manage audits and financial reporting.
  • Utilize advanced tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including fund launches and onboarding new strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the month-end NAV close process across multiple fund platforms.
  • Review reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Oversee financial reporting and audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Coordinate regulatory filings and ensure data accuracy and documentation.
  • Partner with tax teams for compliance and reporting across fund structures.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Mentor and manage junior staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Support ad-hoc projects including fund launches and strategic initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license required.
  • Approximately 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big Four and investment management firm experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and investment company accounting principles.
  • Experience managing financial reporting and audits for complex fund structures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for investment advisers and fund vehicles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with portfolio accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop junior staff effectively.
  • Experience with AI tools for accounting and reporting workflows is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ownership mindset.
