Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection procedures with precision and care.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to test requirements.
- Ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes.
- Store and transport specimens while maintaining their integrity and compliance.
- Respond to inquiries and provide laboratory results via telephone professionally.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory protocols.
- Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintain decontamination records accurately.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
- Knowledge of specimen handling, storage, and transport protocols.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
