Assistant Nurse Manager Surgical Services

Overview

• Support the implementation of best practice models and patient care systems across multiple locations.
• Assist in investigations of patient concerns and collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal care delivery.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure proper assignment and utilization in clinical areas.
• Supervise equipment, supplies, and medication usage and maintenance.
• Maintain clinical expertise and provide supervision, competency, and licensing for care provision.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support the creation of a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with nursing practice teams to uphold care quality and compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Mentor and coach team members to drive performance improvement and professional growth.
• Supervise daily activities of work teams, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Coordinate hospital administrative functions to support patient care and maintain compliance standards.
• Manage care delivery operations within a 24/7 environment, ensuring resource allocation and operational efficiency.
• Support emergency preparedness programs and ensure staff training and readiness.
• Monitor continuous improvement of clinical practices and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise strategic projects to improve quality, service, affordability, and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum two years of experience in patient care delivery.
• Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
• Minimum one year of leadership experience with or without direct reports.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in business operations or clinical healthcare preferred.
• Ability to manage operations in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
