Job Description

Overview

  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to a patient care team, ensuring high standards of patient satisfaction, safety, and quality of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments while coordinating care and interventions tailored to patient needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain compliance with nursing standards, guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Manage daily huddles, patient chart reviews, and clinical supplies inventory to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Document patient progress in the electronic health record system, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Support the hiring, training, and evaluation of care team staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Perform point-of-care tests and administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, delegating tasks and ensuring their completion.
  • Coordinate care team scheduling and manage Paid Time Off requests effectively.
  • Conduct patient assessments, verify chief complaints, and document vital signs accurately.
  • Prepare materials for daily huddles and review patient charts for missing labs or reports.
  • Assist in clinical supply inventory management and ensure availability of necessary equipment.
  • Provide general nursing care, including administering medications and treatments per orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety policies while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current New York State RN licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices to evaluate patient care.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical chart reporting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; BSN preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within scope of practice.
  • Skill in identifying problems, recommending solutions, and delegating tasks effectively.
