Overview
- Serve as the senior operational lead for legal process and discovery matters within the organization.
- Manage intake, tracking, response, and resolution of legal documents served on the organization.
- Oversee discovery and e-discovery operations, including litigation holds, data collection, and production workflows.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal entities to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Lead efforts to restructure and improve existing processes for efficiency and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state rules of civil and criminal procedure and privacy laws.
- Provide oversight and guidance to team members handling legal process matters.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support legal process and discovery functions.
- Support audits and regulatory examinations related to legal process and discovery.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the restructuring of intake processes and workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Administer and manage e-discovery platforms, including Relativity, for litigation holds and data preservation.
- Coordinate with IT, records management, and external counsel on defensible collection strategies.
- Provide oversight and quality control for team handling legal process matters.
- Draft and manage correspondence related to legal process and discovery.
- Develop standardized procedures for legal process intake, tracking, and resolution.
- Act as the primary liaison for legal process matters between internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with discovery-related activities.
- Establish quality-control standards and review protocols for outgoing responses and productions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in legal process and discovery matters.
- Advanced proficiency in e-discovery platforms, including Relativity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven legal processes.
- Prior experience supervising or leading a team in legal functions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in document management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and legal process management systems.
- Ability to work independently and produce attorney-ready work product.
