Dental Hygienist

Overview

• Deliver exceptional oral healthcare services, promoting optimal dental hygiene and patient well-being.
• Collaborate with dentists to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Perform professional dental cleanings, plaque removal, and preventive care procedures.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices and dietary impacts.
• Conduct diagnostic screenings, X-rays, and dental impressions to support care decisions.
• Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical and dental histories.
• Foster a welcoming and professional environment to enhance patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct thorough oral health assessments and screenings to identify dental issues.
• Perform dental cleanings, plaque removal, and preventive care treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs and impressions for diagnostic purposes.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and their importance for dental health.
• Collaborate with dentists to formulate and execute personalized treatment plans.
• Ensure the sterilization and proper functioning of dental instruments and equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records for continuity of care.
• Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients during dental procedures.

Job Requirements

• Associate of Science (AS) degree in Dental Hygiene or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist; 4 years preferred.
• Valid GDC Registration and professional certification required.
• Proficiency in performing dental cleanings, X-rays, and impressions.
• Strong knowledge of oral hygiene practices and preventive care techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a comforting bedside manner.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with dentists and other healthcare professionals.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
