Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Senior Accountant within a dynamic accounting team, contributing to financial reporting and analysis.
  • Engage in hands-on accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.

  • Utilize expertise in construction accounting and revenue recognition methodologies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity.
  • Conduct variance and trend analyses to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Oversee sales and use tax filings and regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Reconcile purchase card expense management systems and union liability accounts.
  • Support revenue recognition and Work-in-Progress reporting using percentage-of-completion methodologies.
  • Assist project teams with accounting support and insurance-related analysis.
  • Provide documentation and schedules for external audits.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of accounting processes and controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in GAAP/IFRS standards and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with revenue recognition principles and percentage-of-completion methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, preferably JD Edwards, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential information effectively.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating with a team.
