Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax compliance and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses in a boutique accounting firm.
  • Positioned on a partner track, contributing to strategic leadership and co-heading the tax department.
  • Engage in thought leadership initiatives, technology advancements, and staff development programs.
  • Collaborate with clients on tax planning, compliance, and advocacy services tailored to their needs.
  • Supervise and mentor staff to enhance their professional growth and support departmental objectives.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities effectively.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by expanding client services and developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the tax department, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Prepare and review individual income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Oversee gift tax returns and coordinate estate and wealth-transfer planning strategies.
  • Advise closely held businesses on tax compliance and planning, including pass-through entities.
  • Sign off on high-level compliance reviews and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Develop proposals and foster relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Supervise engagements and special projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Train, evaluate, and mentor staff, promoting their professional development and growth.
  • Stay updated on tax issues and business trends impacting clients, providing informed advice.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's preferred.
  • CPA certification with 10+ years of tax experience in public accounting.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Expertise in individual income taxation, gift tax returns, and closely held business taxation.
  • Strong client-facing experience with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in managing tax engagements and monitoring deliverable timelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and detail-oriented environment.
