Nurse Director Emergency Services

Overview

• Lead and oversee emergency nursing services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance clinical performance and patient satisfaction.
• Drive strategic initiatives to improve outcomes and cost-effectiveness in emergency services.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of 70 RNs and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align emergency services with organizational goals.
• Support recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in emergency care delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee daily operations of the emergency department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care quality.
• Monitor and manage departmental budgets, resources, and financial performance.
• Lead performance-improvement initiatives based on data analysis and clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to optimize care coordination.
• Ensure staff adherence to clinical standards and patient safety protocols.
• Provide regular training and development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Drive patient satisfaction and engagement through effective communication and care delivery strategies.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Current Alabama RN license or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in emergency nursing services.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive performance improvements.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtainable within a defined timeframe.
• Experience in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
