Job Description

Overview

  • Lead community relations and communications strategies for renewable energy projects across the United States.
  • Collaborate with development and asset management teams to ensure stakeholder engagement and project success.
  • Develop and implement annual charitable donation plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders, including community groups, local governments, and regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the External Affairs team in community relations efforts for renewable energy initiatives.
  • Proactively address stakeholder concerns and mitigate risks associated with project development.
  • Coordinate and attend community events, open houses, and informational sessions to foster positive relationships.
  • Support Corporate Communications initiatives to enhance organizational outreach and visibility.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies for renewable energy projects at various stages.
  • Craft project presentation materials, including mailers, digital content, and FAQs.
  • Manage external public relations firms to ensure consistent messaging and optimized outreach.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local officials, business leaders, and community members.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead community events, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Maintain quality control for all deliverables related to community relations and communications.
  • Support overall Corporate Communications activities to align with organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, or related fields; graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications and public outreach for energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and navigate complex development environments.
  • Experience in community relations, political campaigns, or public relations agencies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% as required.
  • Must pass pre-employment background and financial credit checks.
