Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the tax function within the regional office, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.
  • Serve as a senior resource for tax, trust, and estate matters across the Midwest region.
  • Collaborate with leadership to standardize and enhance tax practices firmwide.
  • Engage with clients to articulate tax service offerings and provide strategic consultation.
  • Mentor and develop tax managers, fostering professional growth and readiness for advancement.
  • Represent the firm at professional events, enhancing visibility and reputation.
  • Contribute to the development of a consistent, high-quality client experience across the region.
  • Support integration efforts for acquired offices within the region.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate pricing, staffing, and workflow planning for tax engagements.
  • Oversee tax compliance services, including individual, trust, estate, and business tax returns.
  • Conduct advanced tax research and provide authoritative guidance on complex issues.
  • Develop and implement advanced tax and estate planning strategies.
  • Lead internal training sessions for tax managers and staff across offices.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including client prospect meetings.
  • Support advisory teams with technical tax discussions and planning.
  • Drive firmwide standardization efforts as part of the tax leadership team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification mandatory.
  • 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles.
  • Extensive expertise in trust and estate taxation, UHNW individual taxation, and partnership taxation.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop tax professionals.
  • Strong technical skills in multigenerational estate planning and charitable giving strategies.
  • Experience with complex entity structures and UHNW families.
  • Ability to work onsite four days per week in a hybrid environment.
