Job Description

Overview

  • Support the accounting function by ensuring accurate financial reporting and general ledger maintenance in a hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial data integrity and compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, providing insights and explanations for variances.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives aimed at improving accounting practices and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and audit general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper classification.
  • Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide variance analysis to management.
  • Monitor financial activity, identify inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation for accounting transactions and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Support audits by preparing requested documentation and addressing inquiries.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives to enhance accounting practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or public accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software like Blackline and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Smartsheet software is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and quantitative communication skills.
