Overview

  • Lead nursing operations in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit as Assistant Nurse Manager.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Support the unit director in planning, organizing, and evaluating nursing services.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards within the unit.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage clinical and operational activities during assigned shifts in the Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Provide managerial presence and leadership support across all shifts.
  • Ensure adherence to nursing protocols and patient care standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide nursing staff to achieve professional excellence.
  • Facilitate shared governance and encourage staff participation in decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing performance to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Support implementation of hospital initiatives and improvement programs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing and leadership roles.
  • Experience as Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse in Labor and Delivery.
  • Familiarity with shared governance and acute care hospital operations.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage nursing teams effectively.
