Job Description

Overview

  • Lead surgical services operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes within the surgical services department.
  • Collaborate with administrative teams and physicians to expand service offerings and drive departmental growth.
  • Oversee budget planning and monitoring, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and cost management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure the maintenance and compliance of surgical equipment and facilities with accreditation standards.
  • Provide leadership in employee engagement, development, and retention strategies to build a superior team.
  • Promote interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to optimize patient care delivery and throughput.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, identifying and addressing performance gaps.
  • Cultivate a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience and satisfaction through strategic planning and execution.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to staff to improve performance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for service expansion and technological advancements.
  • Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of care through effective coordination and planning.
  • Manage labor resources effectively, including scheduling, productivity management, and premium pay utilization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in surgical services; 5 years preferred.
  • 3+ years of applicable surgical services experience required; pediatric experience highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices in surgical services.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and departmental growth effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to inspire and engage teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
