Overview

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to develop HVAC designs for diverse projects and clients.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills and organizational habits to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to advancing engineering practices and client service within a dynamic team environment.
  • Engage in equipment sizing and selection for HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, fans, and ductwork.
  • Perform cooling and heating load calculations using industry-standard tools like Trane Trace and Carrier HAPS.
  • Develop and edit specifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards such as IMC and NFPA.
  • Utilize software tools like Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed mechanical designs.
  • Participate in a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and on-site collaboration.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and implement HVAC systems for various building projects, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans.
  • Perform equipment sizing, selection, and load calculations to optimize system performance.
  • Draft and edit technical specifications, adhering to industry standards and codes.
  • Utilize software tools like AutoCAD and Revit for detailed design and documentation.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in HVAC equipment sizing, selection, and load calculations.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IMC and NFPA.
  • Experience with chilled water plants, boilers, and combined heating and cooling plants.
  • Competency in software tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, and Carrier HAPS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for design and mentoring others.
