Overview
- Provide essential medical and clinical support under the direction of the Nurse Manager, ensuring smooth operation of daily clinic activities.
- Assist medical providers with patient care, including obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient encounters and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and other clinical tasks as needed, adhering to universal precautions and safety protocols.
- Organize and prepare patient summary sheets and charts to facilitate efficient clinic operations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and ensure optimal clinic workflow.
- Engage with patients professionally, obtaining chief complaints and addressing their needs effectively.
- Support administrative tasks as required, including scheduling and patient communication.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and organize patient charts and summary sheets for daily clinic operations.
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient encounters.
- Call patients from the lobby and escort them to exam rooms.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and chief complaints accurately.
- Assist medical providers with patient care tasks under supervision.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures and adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain universal precautions in all clinical activities to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Support clinical activities by maintaining equipment and supplies.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience preferred; bilingual candidates are encouraged.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer literacy essential.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to perform phlebotomy procedures effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
