Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver patient-centered care in the Med/Surg Orthopedics Unit, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following physician orders and hospital policies.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, recovery processes, and preventive care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies, ensuring a safe and efficient care environment.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior nursing staff, fostering professional growth and teamwork.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Experience in Med/Surg Orthopedics and familiarity with EPIC systems preferred.
  • Strong commitment to patient care and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends with applicable shift differentials.
