Overview

  • Lead and manage oncology pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing departmental operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care and medication management strategies.
  • Develop and implement innovative pharmacy practices aligned with hospital objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and analyze pharmacy systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous education and research to stay updated on advancements in oncology pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the oncology pharmacy department, ensuring optimal workflow and service delivery.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff, addressing performance issues as needed.
  • Coordinate drug procurement and inventory management, ensuring availability and proper storage.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align pharmacy services with hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Analyze and interpret medical literature to support evidence-based practices.
  • Develop and present reports and recommendations to hospital leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Monitor and improve pharmacy payment methodologies and systems.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in Arizona.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology medications and drug interactions.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
