Job Description
Overview
- Lead financial operations for a hedge fund, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to produce daily financial reports and monitor investment guidelines.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance processes for the fund and management company.
- Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, tax accountants, and prime brokers.
- Oversee daily cash and position reconciliations, ensuring accurate internal P&L monitoring.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements and partner allocations for the management company.
- Assist with regulatory filings including 13F, Form PF, and Form ADV.
- Support Investor Relations with subscription and redemption documents and inquiries.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives led by the CFO.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee audit processes, including FAR filings and SOC 1 compliance.
- Review and approve monthly NAV calculations with fund administrators.
- Coordinate tax estimates, filings, and K-1 production with external accountants.
- Monitor OMS systems for accurate internal P&L reporting.
- Produce fund estimates and margin reports for hedge funds.
- Ensure compliance with MiFID II regulations and investment guidelines.
- Manage quarterly billing processes and management company close procedures.
- Support compliance certifications and regulatory filings for investors.
- Collaborate with the CFO on financial projects and reporting tasks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of financial industry experience; 12 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise.
- Experience with hedge funds, closed-end funds, and '40 act funds.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and CITCO systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute instructions independently.
- Familiarity with asset classes such as convertibles, HY, and CLOs is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with stakeholders.
